PIP stands for Personal Injury Protection under Florida law. Florida law has a fourteen day rule where by the motorist injured in an accident must seek medical attention within fourteen days of the vehicle accident. If the motorist does that, they can get up to eighty percent of their medical expenses paid up to policy limits and up to sixty percent of their lost wages up to policy limits.
